~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PIRATE'S DELIGHT
i sailed the seas of her dark desire
the rolling undulations of her waves
composed of lava and white flame
howling hurricane winds of her lust
stealing my breath away while the
churning ocean of watered passion
quickly dragged me downward into
the whirlpool of her covert currents
a bold caribbean pirate, i boarded
her ship laden with priceless treasures
to plunder and pillage precious cargo
i lustily imbibed all her finest wine
and took as my spoils all her bounty
her hidden pearl was soon discovered
by the cunning of my thieving fingers
and stolen by my scoundrel’s tongue
her tempest created on a jet stream
of whispered longings, stormy kisses
that had mingled our belabored breath
until stars crashed down into our sea
and the moon was eclipsed with envy
she was the captain and i her navigator
charting our course by constellations
hanging naked in a black velvet sky
when at last dawn grasped the horizon
with long fingers of crimson and gold
she still slept docile against my chest
and wakened with hungry fire of desire
lighting her adventurous seafarer’s eyes
with the mystic tempestuous seduction
of a bare siren dwelling on rocks of sicily
daring me to steal her treasures again
4 8-line stanzas that didn't just bounce off
the keyboard, they are crafted, crafted wonderfully, DJ,
and yet within the 'confines' there is liberty
of thought and expression, superb language choices
and sheer quality sustained metaphor.
Kudos!
DJ,
My my, so much to embrace in this erotic, romantic beautiful poem.
the ending is superb, rendering any maiden helpless with desire for her pirate to pilage and plunder her most precious treasures, especially on the rocks of sicily where my ancestors are from...
Nicely done you rougue you!!!
Much peace, love and light,
Amber
