SWAYED

the steel drums played a rumba beat
hesitantly her head lay on my shoulder
while diminutive hand shyly sought shelter
within the warmth of my large bronze one
I felt the slight tremble of her supple body
and the cusp of one of her ample breasts
resting against my encircling arm, curved
like the pointed end of the crescent moon
reclining against velvet shoulder of heaven
his soft radiance caressed her silken hair
with tingling fingertips of mysterious light
her lips formed a flawless bow of slight pout

her lips, heaven’s gift to this undeserving man
such lips as those seducing, persuading adam
that the flavor of their red fruit was superior
to eternal life spent without their sweet taste
the night filled with music, pregnant with love
her perfume floated on its heavy, onyx mantle
I was wrapped tightly within her enchantment
until my breath could no longer endure a moment
without her spiced breath circling within my lungs
I’d have her, she would sway my restless heart
to sensual rumba beat of midnight’s steel drums

You reminded me of nights like that. Swaying to the music and intoxicated by the woman in my arms. Amazing.
