when she cries, my heart fills with pain
and my sole purpose is to comfort her
my arms steal around her, like a child
her head rests on my shoulder as her
tears fall abundantly and wet my shirt
she confides her sorrows and secrets
and I soothe her with words of hope
attempting to hide my tears from her
for this man must always appear strong
but sometimes they fall softly down into
the scented strands of her silken hair
and she whispers, "thank you for caring"
then she plants a tender kiss on my neck
we are one in the secrets and the tears
when she smiles my happy heart sings
a love-song, a hymn of thankfulness
no man could resist the warmth of it
that smile that radiates joy and love
that smile that draws my lips to hers
prompts my desire to inhale her soul
a smile as spontaneous as her spirit
often angelic but just as often naughty
a smile hinting, "I'm an angel of love"
or implying "I'm a wanton woman of lust"
it is then I crave her mouth and her flesh
tasting the smile of her lips and passion
of her firm breasts, her smooth open thighs
and we are one in the power of her smile
