In the still of night - Haiku In the still of night… Hear! In your rhythmic heartbeat The Universe sings. In the still of night - Sonnet In the still of night, under dark velvet sky - Studded with millions of twinkling star-lights - As on the wings of soft, mild breeze sweet scents fly Into your nostrils, binging tender delights, Stand still and listen to the beat of your heart. Listen to the beat, that pulsing vital rhythm, Forget yourself… forget what sets you apart… Science… religion… anger… agnosticism… In that live rhythm the Universe is singing, Singing with ringing, tuneful, angelic voice. Listen to the message the song is bringing, A message in which you can truly rejoice: “Forget form… matter… go to the heart of it… ‘Tis the song of Spheres… and you are part of it.” © P. J. At first I thought, I think I like the sonnet best, which I think sings to the romantic in me, but I always love spare, and haiku is spare and elegant, lean and delightful, so I think I like them both equally. I do love the sonnet's end:)

WONDERFUL Haiku...but about sonnet...the rhyme a(sky, fly) is not very well taken...though is euphonic...great poem, though!! I should say a good modern sonnet!!
