To soar up to the sky
At the end of each day,
That was my dream... Oh Lord…
Where did I lose my way?
To stand up in front of you,
My head humbly bowed,
That is what I dreamt about
Why ‘s it disallowed?
I lived, walked, stumbled and fell,
I am drowning in slime.
Was it the luck of the draw,
Or was it my crime?
Am I the victim, or
Just another blind fool?
Did I lose the blueprint?
Did I possess "The Tool"?
To end up before Thee
At the end of one day,
That is what I dream about.
Will I find my way?
If one wish were granted
Than please let it be this:
Give me no mercy my Lord,
Just don't let me miss.

WOW, what a powerful, sad prayer--i know how you feel. i seem to have lost my prayers, too...excellent conveyed emotional write. well done!
(((HUGS))) and i hope you find the answers you seek *me, too*, love, karla. :(
Just don't bee to strict towards yourself.
He will put things right for you.
I love this painting - the praying hands.
And an excellent write by you.
Your poem reminds me that I would like to pray more. In the last verse, last line, I feel that "miss" is interchangeable with "sin" and "Lead me not into temptation - deliver me from evil" is in the air.
The symbol of the two hands together, the pictogram of the two Yodim (two Hebrew Yod letters) meaning "Adonai" = "The Lord" ... praying to Adonai by puting my hands together.
Thank you, Peter!
Yours
