I came to regard

my life as a joke. My Death…

a laugh at the end.

/P.J.O. (“My life as a joke” in Philosophically Speaking - Haiku)

Life is truly a silly joke,

It is really and truly daft.

I was born carrying a yoke…

Split my side… laughed and laughed and laughed.

Journeyed through an apocalypse

- Through stormy seas on flimsy raft -

Survived through two dictatorships…

Split my side… laughed and laughed and laughed.

When I tried to learn about love,

It turned out to be sweet witchcraft.

More often one just gets the shove…

Split my side… laughed and laughed and laughed.

Learned, qualified, lived a little,

But mostly it was just hard graft,

A never-ending cruel battle…

Split my side… laughed and laughed and laughed.

Maybe I could make some money?

But mostly it was overdraft.

I thought life could be all honey…

Split my side… laughed and laughed and laughed.

Music, literature and art…

Balm to the soul… oh splendid craft!…

Good way to become an upstart…

Split my side… laughed and laughed and laughed.

Tomorrow an open grave waits,

The last chapter and paragraph,

The final dream that captivates…

…And that will be my biggest laugh…

God's gonna get you for that. :) But laughter is healing to the body and soul--so keep writing, keep laughing!

There is irony in your verses but the laughter should see you through, Peter. Love and peace. Regis

Reminds me of the Monty Python song, as Brian is being crucified.
Live is just a sh1t when you think of it, lifes a laugh and deaths a joke, that's true, so always look on the bright side of life...............
