Oh, where are the passions you thought would last,
Where are the nights, full of consuming lust?
It disappears all forever and fast,
Just like the soft flesh that turns into dust.
You are forced to come to the conclusion,
That no matter what, it all ends too soon
And it is nothing more than illusion,
Just like the man on the face of the moon.
Where is the wealth you accumulated,
The precious possessions that meant so much?
What is its worth after you’re cremated?
What will be left of it for you to clutch?
You are forced to come to the conclusion,
That no matter what, it all ends too soon
And it is nothing more than illusion,
Just like the man on the face of the moon.
What of happiness, what of achievement,
Love and ideals, all through your life you’ve chased?
It all disappears in final payment,
When at the end all accounts are erased.
You are forced to come to the conclusion,
That no matter what, it all ends too soon
And it is nothing more than illusion,
Just like the man on the face of the moon.
Disillusionment is always painful.
Don’t try balancing on the edge of knife,
Don’t chase illusions; live life to the full,
Live wisely; enjoy this God given life.
