In all its crimson splendour wakes the dawn.
A light breeze so gently rustles the leaves
That not a single leaf falls on the lawn;
No dewdrops from the leaves the grass receives.
In the stillness of the dawn I stand and muse
About another day’s quiet onset
And decide – watching the sky’s changing hues -
It’s just another day before sunset.
Later on, as the night descends once more
And with million starry eyes blinks the sky,
Quiet hush subdues the day’s maddening roar,
Yet another truth I identify:
In an endless chess-game I’m just a pawn…
…It’s just another night before next dawn…
