I've seen Him walk in, in black hood and cape,

Looked at you and said: "Come, I'll ease your pain."

You nodded, knowing there was no escape

And there would be no suffering again.

.

You didn't look back, you never said goodbye,

Through dark mist He carried you far away,

Left me standing there, hopelessly to cry,

Like an abandoned, lonely castaway.

But He returned, looking me up and down,

Like measuring me for his next prey.

"Did you bring me a nice funeral gown?" -

I asked. Looking scornful He said: "Just pray."

Then smiling He announced: "You're next my son."

…and dark veil covered the face of the sun…

Very nice work, P.J. Check out my "The Final Journey" written the night before my father's funeral.

Great work in major poetic art.

I think that if You close it with the "…and dark veil covered the face of the sun…" "the + added line" ~ leaving the closing >> "Thanks" - I said politely - "that will be fun." < < out it would reach its glorious point.

In admiration,

I can really relate to the first 3 verses. It's scary when death takes a friend. It's hard to feel safe again.

Peter,

Deep pain in these lines...I'm sorry for your loss. God be with you, now and always.

(((((HUGS))))) and love, Karla.

Next Arrivals by Robin Ouzman Hislop

Robin Ouzman Hislop's poetry is certainly in dialogue with some of the key architects of the 'poetics of indeterminacy' – both the Modernist strands represented by the likes of Beckett and Stein, and the postmodernist strands represented, initially,

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
