On a long- long and winding, dusty road
Quietly rests an old snail.
On his shoulder, his shell, a heavy load;
Long and arduous s' been the trail.
There's been roses n' lilies in bouquets to kiss
Along the long and winding way,
Now it is just dust that he would rather miss
If there would be another way.
But every road must end in dust.
No matter how hard you try
You cannot miss; what's must is must,
Away you just cannot fly.
Up: the sun shines, down: mild and warm
And here is what's for the best:
The shell, the load, so long been warn
Can at last be laid to rest.
This is a book of free verse poetry that addresses the seven main tests in life and offers some sensible solutions to passing those tests with minimal discomfort.
“The woman or man who is a poet, or fiction writer, or playwright, or all of these, is engaged constantly in a jazz ballet of vocabularies, passions, genders, histories, perspectives, death, love, and life. The music of revelation announces itself to
Inspirational poetry, written from the heart and soul. Verses that are well-suited for reading on a rainy day and that are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.
My first opportunity to read you. Words laid out nicely, naturally, as words should be strewn. My compliments....
