When I grow up I’ll fly to the moon,
Look down on the Earth and I shall swoon.
When I grow up I shall never rest,
I will climb mountains, climb Everest.
On a winged horse I’ll soar to the sky,
When I grow up a rocket I’ll fly.
When I grow up, I will run the World
And I’ll not brag, not even a word.
When I grow up, it will be so great
Tempting Providence and tempting fate.
When I grow up it all will be fine,
The world will be great, I’ll be divine.
When I grow up, it all will be fun,
The Moon will not set, neither the Sun,
I’ll be on the go all day and night,
Damsels to rescue, dragons to fight.
I will save the world when up I grow,
Around my head will shine a halo,
I will be a Knight, I’ll be a Saint,
Around me all the women will faint.
When I grow up, there will be no dread,
I’ll feed masses on five fish and bread.
Women will beg me to share their bed,
When I grow up... they will be so glad…
…Come to think of it… what is the rush?...
All noise ebbs away into a hush.
Let glory be to someone other;
At seventy… why should I bother?...
