Inspired by a painting of the same name by Martha Mottau Reisdorf

http://www.marthareisdorf.com/mg5Landscape.html

It blew me
to standing
between you
and the river
my legs still weak
from your
faded whispers

i fell in love
with the wind
that day-

an impossible romance
of hot and cold,
of shifting storms,
and I fell in love that day
with you

i knew the sky
was obsidian blue
(the paint still left on my fingers)
smeared with white
(pure and glowing)

and you wore my perfume
all over your flesh
spread by the hand
of the painter
who paralyzed words
into swollen interludes

i was content and wept
and smiled with intent

and i loved the wind
that day
long before
the night came
and dragged
you away

Beautifully written!
Loved it!!!
So much emotion in this poem and it's written in a way that I could see it all in my mind as if I was standing there. So romantic... just beautiful.

Whew! Blew me away! (ha ha) This one's a case where the poetry clearly outshines the inspiration: very erotic, somewhat romantic, slightly sad.

I have never seen the picture, but I can visualise it fully through your words... I would LOVE to see whether, in fact, it matches in any way. You have an amazing talent, Michelle, for strong visuals and grounding in place with so few words. Yet you maintain an ethereal feel and a spiritual lightness. You are an artist of the highest sensitivity and calibre. The concept of "the painter who paralysed words into swollen interludes" is drop-dead gorgeous. I beleive you feel words deeply. You don't search for words that express your feelings, you express the words that conjure with accuracy what you feel. The results are always spectacular. Bless you, Kate xx

"Windy Day" is beautiful. I love the nature in it and the "romance of shifting storms". What a great metaphor. Also liked the one about "the painter paralyzing words into swollen interludes". These are some expressions I haven't heard before and their origionality is wonderful.

Thoroughly lovely as per your usual creativity, Michelle. Coincidentally, today is a windy day here, one that seems to make the sun dance in the blue sky. Thank you for sharing your gift. Love and my very best sentiments to you,

Regis
