Inspired by the painting "Moonrise Dungeness," oil on linen, 2005, by West Fraser

when night fell wordless

 (i taunted the moon)

to run its fingers through

(slowly)

the eve of my hair

mountains grew lavender

(at the sound of our sighs)

befriending shadows

(where the dark is alive)

in the music of crows

(is it rising -)

the dunes and the coast and the waves and the inside

(of me of you)

treetops are canopies

(beds of the stars)

over your pale shoulder

(a climax of colors)

 fading blue skies

(your eyes)

i hear my name on your lips

(written in whispers)

and on the curves of my thigh

(tales of desire)

as we play this deep music

(to this beat we both know)

of our senses revived

(light oh more light to glow)

Ah, passion persuaded by the moon's silvery, surreal light. Romantic with an upper case R. You have a way with the romance of verbalization. Thanks, Jon Michael Willey

Your last line is so poetic, as are all the lines in this poem. Trees are "beds of the stars," - - quite a visual image that I love. Were you experiementing with ( ) parenthesis? They give details, or asides as in Shakespeare. I don't quite get it, but it works for me.
A beauty of a poem, thanks Michelle,

Peace,
Kathy

Michelle,

Oh, this is divine - an ethereal quality to magical sighs of pleasure in these lines - well done, my new favorite of yours!

I absolutely LOVE the first verse - it is wonderfully creative, both imagery and wording. I like everything about it - the elegantly sensual and intimate mood, the unique imagery throughout, and the style you have used. This is a beautiful write, Michelle! Amazing read~

Oh how that moon can awaken the senses... ...your verses are the proof of that, Michelle. Lovely and sensual; thank you for sharing this gift. Love and best wishes,

Regis (Reg)
