Based on the painting "La Picador II", 1961 by Pablo Picasso- also inspired by a poet friend of mine who likes to be called a rock star, lol, Joe Quinn.

Poem Artwork

he rode his horse in,

on his lifght from within,

leaving circles of sun on my skin,

and he bowed to the crowd,

who all cheered aloud,

for the man who once conquered his sin.

from on high he arose,

for the picador knows,

that from here his heart rules the land,

so he waved to his fans,

with the flick of a hand,

and knew that they'd all understand.

his words like fine knives,

that tortured young lives,

of girls who would swoon at his feet,

how he loved their deep moans,

and when he got them alone,

how he tasted their fruits pure and sweet.

Conqueror, come

this picador's son,

who rules like the others before,

in the ring and in life,

whether lover or wife,

his passion's remain

swift and sure.

Picasso and Monet, my two favorite artists -- the Picadors, men of great arrogance with disdain for lives human and bovine! -- it has been long ago since I was able to savour one of your poetic delights -- glad you could share with us again -- may the Picador's lance not find your beautiful heart -- JMW

Fascinating portrait as only Picasso could do with words of enlightenment to enhance each other, well done...

This flows like the river I see from my window; beautiful poetry, Michelle. I don't know how you come up with such inspiration and paint it with your words. Thank you for sharing your gifts. With admiration, love, hugs, and best wishes,
