Seeds of hope sprinkled over land and she was told-
It would never grow, though rains came and sun,
but she planted anyway, a wide smile on her face
She knew some would call her the Fool, tarot’s clown-
but she shuffled and reshuffled the deck handed to her,
and she saw him there printed on her palms when she left
He was printed everywhere, inside her and outside, too-
a tattoo of the things she desired, so that she forgot herself,
and wasn’t that love anyway, forgetting to stare at your navel?
It was gentle in her hand as was his heart, but still it soared-
when he was near, mad dances to moons in other times
yes, he knew her then, for he knew her always and tomorrow
Why do you love me, he asked her, an empty shell, opened-
she wanted to pour it all inside him, this love, overflow him,
until he finally understood that love that was set in her bones
For him-just him-not a bobbing head beneath the waves, no-
they were a scavenger hunt of souls in the swirls of the ocean,
the seashells that responded to the other's calls on the wind
She wondered if he wanted some checklist on weathered paper-
curling at the edges, it listed the color of his eyes and the curves of him,
and the way his smile made her body sing songs of noon suns
Or maybe it wasn’t that at all, but the way blossoms bloomed again-
Yes, right here she thought, right in myself, it shines before our eyes
and she wonders if the other planets see it alight here on earth, can he?
She pities those of the impossible land, the rugged past once held-
some looked for ideas instead of love, infatuations on manila paper
to stand propped up on popsicle sticks, waving to the passing crows
But she loved him whether it battered her heart raw with broken wire-
whether she'd have to close the suitcase where she stored her heart
yes, for him, but she didn't mind, scattering more seeds as she went
But isn’t that love, to love him even when he asks her why she would-
to love him even when his heart was only half beating for her and still-
she left it there- forever-whenever he wanted it, it was his garden to grow

Sorry, I didn't know this was the advanced class. I am obviously in the wrong room. I am looking for "Poetry for Dummies 101", and this ain't it lady! Yowsa, so good it might as well be written in Greek, for all of my lack of ability to comprehend it. This poem shines so brightly you can see it from space. Beautifully penned!
