Thundering days when swirling storms came
Lightning as tight fists to punch out the sun
With teeth long and sharp with fine silver edging
and moans of the sorrow of rains yet to come
Met you then on a cloud out to nowhere
with a penchant for wide smiles gone full tilt
and you hid me well in the darkness come calling
how we wrestled there in the mud color of guilt
Sure I thought we would twist by on two toes
Sure I thought that those few toes would last long
in a dance where the singer calls out for an encore
even though he believes he knows the end of the song
So very small then with a peak to reach further
very close where we huddle and lower our sails
when skies turn an orange fire the storm is still raging
and lost in the flying furniture are all the details
Swallowing light we look straight up the storm’s center
where a mist carries close both the stars and the moon
So we laugh like two children gone afloat on full oceans
and there we dance once again to some thunderous tune
As the days become darker, I see all that you write. Across the river your verses make sense. I have shared my soul with you. Thus you know my truth. It would be nice, Michelle. Thanks for sharing of your soul,
Regis
