Inspired by a painting by Albert Bierstadt called "Emerald Sea", but also by the beauty in a lover's face in ecstasy.

Poem Artwork

Waves pulling back from the shifting paradigms

flutter of sands that lift in these clockwork times

invited for a stroll of boardwalks flesh and naked

pleasures not planned nor ever thought as fated

blinking eye of lens to make the distance inches

crawling up pale legs with pulling achy flinches

swearing to stone Saints it’s there within the folds

thick lips part for pleasures time for now withholds

cupped hands wrap to build up quickened sensations

movement there where heads reveal such temptations

tasting moisture that wears the edge of sweet elation

wild crescendo seconds a shared place of destination

points alive and pounding to the pulse of inner eyes

feeding fantasies such food on which our love relies

rock tossed and rising fast when called upon demand

urging torture with flashes the weak cannot withstand

if stitched with perfect thread through great and small

still nothing could compare to a face in ecstasy recalled

visioned beauty’s swift arrival with this body’s pure release

alas I am a prisoner now to this love that shall not cease

exquisite Michelle -- as Ron Hull described the relationship with, "Under The Boardwalk" -- so too, are my thoughts congruent with that same vision and mood -- peace, love and great joy to you --JMW

Oh, I have seen the oceans doing just as your photograph shows. Makes my heart stop and my lungs gasp each time, but there is so much beauty in it, just as your delicate words ascribe to a loving heart....

Be always safe,
Karen

I do see that in the painting, very much so.

Lovely and skillfully done. Reminds me of one of Bernini's statues, can't recall the name of it here but it is just that, cupid's arrow in hand and she in the throws of Ecstasy.
Thank you. Blessings J'nia

You have captured the intimate touching of mind, heart, soul and body in orgasmic release as it is captured in the face of a lover at that instant that he/she reaches the plateau that is without a doubt more pleasurable than any other feeling on earth. Your passion and love ebbs in this one till the last line.

Bravo, Michelle! A well-penned story of erotic love, couched in metaphors of the soul. Your wickedly passionate verses have crossed the thresholds of poetry, breaking into an elegant wonderland for the mind. My scientific burners flame-up with interest to know the source of your poetic ecstasy.

In Admiration,

Rockie Coppolella
