Who is to Blame?

Father or Mother

My childhood, what a farce!
A time when a father told you constantly every day
That you didn’t have the intelligence
To pour urine from a boot

With the instructions written on the heel

You were good for nothing and stupid to boot.

A life time of a man knocking you across a room

If you looked at him wrong

A beating or a “cussing out” for the slightest infraction

Never mind how slight.

Maybe it wasn’t my father that was the bad one.

My younger brother and his family no longer speak to me

My mother complained for months about my brother’s wife

And so I poked my nose where it didn’t belong,

In my brother’s business

Because my mother was so “worried”

This morning as I sat peeling eggs

for deviled eggs for my Grannie’Rie’s Birthday Party
And I said something about him no longer talking to me
She smugly replies “Don’t Blame Me”!

Wait a while for him to cool off.

I picked up the task she didn’t want to deal with

And only complain about
I did my best to make her proud
I poked my nose into my brother’s business
And lost my brother and his family’s love and respect.
And “Don’t Blame Me!” replies the one

Who instigated the discord.

She claims she is saved and is waiting for God

To take her home!
If pitting brother against sister or sister against sister
Is my mother’s idea of salvation, she can keep it,

I prefer my own.

For me, I will love my fellow man as my brother or my sister, with all my heart.

God warned parents not to infuriate their children or make them angry.

Children are to honor their father and mother for this is right, (Ephesians 6:1-4).

I honor my mother for the life she gave me.

But no longer will I pick up the problems thrown out for me

To pick up and solve for her.
My nose is no longer in anyone’s business but my own.
This problem I regret ever being a part of

And no longer want any part of the hate.

For me, I will love my fellow man as my brother or my sister, with all my heart.

Probably the best thing any of us can do.

Sadly this is all too often the case whether it be a mother, a father, a spouse or a friend who eggs people to do things they are unwilling or know the consequences of. It is sad for they usually use people with big hearts and it is those people who's hearts get hurt.

I'm so sorry Ann. If parents only realized the damage they can do, the scars they can leave. Heart wrenching.

When someone claims they are saved and you are not - what right do they have to judge. . . what about all those who were born before Christ are they too damned - I have been through this - and it's not the God I worship

Yep, that's why I do not talk to any of my siblings, all of us around or is it they stopped talking to me first...depends on who you talk to but I know the mother of my kind who always is nice while you are there and tells the dirt once you are gone.

I lived there on their property for years so I got to see first hand what the rest did not so they could not understand. I live with it..Lady J

Family arguments can be the worst kind. Pray that your mother realizes the hurt that she has caused you before she is called home.
