Music: It Doesn't Rain In Southern California

I heard a song a long time ago About how it didn’t rain in Southern California I can only say, “He lied!!!” Not only does it rain It snows! In the desert! And stays! A foot or more! On highway 15 from Barstow to Los Angeles Rain then snow, a brisk 30 degrees I went down into the LA Basin Delivering bath fashions to a distribution center Then picked up a load of cereal Driving across the I-40 through Arizona Almost 100 miles of lovely dusty rose highway Not the black tarmac or white concrete But a lovely dusty rose roadbed New Mexico decorates the medians and overpasses Colorful Indian symbols grace the way Lovely huge urns hold flowers to please the traveler Urns covered with the symbols of the Native American The load of cereal is headed for Allentown, PA On a street named Nestle Way Went through Hershey to get there. Be careful what you wish for, look what’s happened to me Woke up in a truck stop in PA Found dark stormy clouds Pouring down fluffy white rain Not allowed to say the “s” word in the truck! I’ve seen the Baobab Forest in Flagstaff At least three foot of snow, pristine in its beauty Not a track made by man Just rabbit and deer, a beautiful sight to see I do hope you are enjoying the ride As I try to point out all I see I’m glad to have you along on my adventure My beloved friends of AD

Very cool: what a way to see the country. I ENVY U - but with my eyesight and hearing I'd never make a trucker - will have to see the country another way (behind the keys of a piano!) Best of luck on all your trips and stay safe. GREAT road poems!

I loved traveling with you Ann!It was a real treat! We rarely have a winter like this ,even here in northern ca, it has been one storm after another with snow in high elevations, and rain where I am.
