introspective look at the path of life

The street lights line a narrow walk,
their halos shining bright.
I look into the distant plain
beyond the endless night.

The hard red brick beneath my feet
will lead me in this life,
when winter's breath is cold as ice
and sharp as any knife.

A sojourn through a silent scene
I walk this path alone,
forever on to distant lights
to find the great unknown.

I'll miss my friends along the way,
for they have helped the most
and in the end I'll find my dreams
as beacons on a post.

With this I leave a story told
as others go this way
and journey down a haloed path
to where the angels play.

We all have to walk that path alone, other than that, I can't say it any better than Ron.

Beautifully poetic that was so easy to read. I'm not sure, "where Angels play," is, but I recall walking down those cold, crystalline nights hearing my heels click on the bricks of the old sidewalk as I walked amid halos of street lamps. Cool. Actually, quite cold.

Omega Factor by John Henning

Take some time to walk outside of your own mind and into another, walk slowly and carefully; the mind that you step on might be your own.
