as i approached
i heard your sigh of relief as i got closer
you peered up at the same time wiping away the beginning of another cry
i thought i heard the murmurs of your heart asking me to inquire about you
i listened
we talked around us about us for us
to us of us
then
it was time
to go
this is incredibly poingnant! And filled with layers of possible interpetation...something I like in poetry...this piece could be read as a visit to an elderly loved one...or a short tryst with a lover...Excellent work!
