Her Name was Stormy

i heard a storm creep in

one thunder crack at a time

and i went downstairs

out onto the porch to watch

it arrive.

it was dark gray,

swirling wind,

coming towards me

one large drop at a time.

chip bags rolling by like

tumble weeds rolling through

el paso.

taste the dust on my lips,

spit out the sand paper,

draw a heavy sigh

as the twister rolls over

my head.

round funnel dancing lively

as a veil tossed from

a moving train

and in the middle there stood

a maiden holding out her hand.

i stared wide eyed,

blinking, disbelieving

what was before me.

as I took a step forward

i flew into the sky,

tried to hold on to the lightning rod

but broke off at the cock's comb,

couldn't resist her power,

pulled right into her skirts,

rod and all.

i flew so helpless into her arms,

kissed the eye of the storm,

where in the middle of torrential rains

there was calm.

we tossed and turned,

i held fast and

rode her over the concrete towers

that bent to her power,

explosions electrifying and defying all logic,

illuminating her smile.

she gripped me tightly in her path,

I had no choice but to give in,

let her use me 'til all was quiet

and I found myself in a pile of debris.

walked back home and looked around.

not a creature in sight.

nothing but a rainbow

crowning the homestead

as night gave way to sunlight.

Excallant wreite J. with images that linger on the mind long after I finished reading the words. Well done.

Oh, my - this is vividly imaged in verse, J, I'll never look at a storm the same way again! Slightly erotic, but o, so nice - well done.

so glad you were not afraid of that storm. What happened to you was written so nicely. Glad you survivied the debris and weren't hurt. This is an amazing story of how God keeps us in his power and keeps us from harm. Liked it very much. The words flowed easily til the end.***********
