i watched the rain wash over her body,

slow drips at first,

a welcome cool mist

in the middle of all this heat,

humid hydration running off

the petals of a flower

just beginning to open.

she shakes her hair

just a little faster,

the drops become

just a little heavier,

and she pulls her

skirt up just enough

to clear the curb

without losing a step.

getting weighed down

by the rain,

ivory colored blouse

slight cool breeze

brings out her....

beauty's face covered

under the canopy

of a coffee shop,

why doesn't she go in,

i wonder as

i walk by,

slight glance up

meeting her eye,

she smiles

ever so slightly,

invitingly.

i stop and turn,

she's looking,

would you like a coffee?

she relaxes and says

ever so calmly

with a grin no one

 could possibly pass -
