watching from the sidelines

smoothe movements taken in every breath

the tremor as each goes in

careful orchestration of

 hand and eye coordination

musings held briefly deeply in the moment

spark of light in the dark gleaming in front

like a torch showing the way

dragon's breath taken in by the hearth

sweet embers carrying notes

on ancient remedies

opening doors seen through misty moors

adoration of the days carried in your eyes

watching carefully the golden threads

braiding locks unbroken by time

as shadows shrink away into corners

fading fast into oblivion

exchanging mute tones for color

while i remain caught in magic drifting

through lips glossed over in silken strokes

exhaling whispers floating as smoke 

into the air to warm my soul

in rhythm with beats in unison with yours

magnifying a coupled existence

the mere thought of which humbles

in the realization

that it's with you the journey

has its completion ...

a completion who's paradox is this -

the end is the beginning,

the last is first,

and the years have brought

not aging but birth.
