'DEAVERS IS DEAD'
His first name was ed
A name from long long ago

Gone is the seductive chameleon
Who preyed on our unwary children
Though few would see this was so

Dead is the charismatic instiller of confidence
To whom they willingly surrendered their innocence
Never sensing his ominous soul

Pain and frustration...long set aside
Comes crashing back
as I read ...
'Ed Deavers died'

Only the flash of a second
on this do I dwell
For his clever duplicity had not served him well

I turn my face to the rolling clouds
savoring the sweerness of the day
and smile...

'He's yours now my Father'
I silently criy

Then whisper through the breeze...

"today Deavers died'

Not a local "celebrity." Did a quick Google search to no avail. If the perp is what I suspect, you have wasted your tears. That said, there is much more here than meets (my) eye. Patrick

What conflicting emotions you must have had when you learned that he had died! An Intriguing poem, well done.
