be it blessing or curse
every poet is a philosopher.
a fact for which they seem
no less or more the worse.

people, places, things,
events - moments in time.
captured in their mind.
and through their words
all these things are expressed.
their lives are Lived.
Interpreted.
Felt.
and Philosophised.

Ah, but not every philosopher
can be a poet.
they haven't got the Rythmn.
haven't got the Ryhme.
they only understand Time.

they know life
but Life is not Felt.
their words can tell you about life.
but, they can not
live Life with you.
a Poet can.

so be it blessing
or be it curse,
for better or for worse.
a Poet gets to
Live & to Give.

We're a bit of philosophers because we talk to ourselves a lot and look at the depth of things because we have to write about them. From depth, comes philosophy.. :)

You struck a chord again! True--that's why all poets are artists--they combine the evident with the hidden, discerning the undercurrents of life. And, passion always threads through the material of their poetry.

Steve
When life, our eyes, we would perceive,
A multitude of facts ourselves believe,
To unburden emotions,we seek to relieve,
In memories casket,dreams lost,retrieve.

Future: The Spiritual Story of Humanity by Glenn Martin

Histories of the world are generally written to either celebrate technology and science, or to herald doom. My book examines the path of the spirit in the onward rush.
