as i walk my way
each day
i try to See
things that are new to me

i try to look for more
of what my Life has in store
like a new or different door
one i hadn't noticed before

things that come & things that go
things that grow
things that glow
just things i didn't know

like the morning fog
or some old red dog
a broken stump of a log

a stray cat
someone's silly hat
just things like that

a wreath on a door
a door i ain't seen 'afore
and more...

trash on the ground
some old pictures i've found
whatever comes around

the other day
as i went my same way
up on a home
at it's very dome
up on it's roof
i do not spoof
i saw an owl
a tarnished bronze fowl

now i'd past that house a hundered' times
but never in my rythmns or in my rhyme
did i take the time
to find
that old bird
it'd gone unheard
it'd gone unseen
see what i mean?

i might see a ladder
a way to clatter
to the flat roof of an old adobe home
that's what i see when i roam

a kite in the air
a boat out there
a young lady so fair
with soft golden hair

a mother & child
each runnin' wild
in this weather so mild
that in my memory i've filed

a father & son
both on the run
just havin' fun
out there in the Sun

an old lady & an old man
as they walk or stand
maybe they hold each other's hand
each with a gold wedding band

a woman or a man alone
with their face hard as stone
bare ta' the bone
a life with a sad tone

children at play
boats on the bay
skys that are gray
skys that are blue
a Sunrise, too
a Sunset's hue
a cloud passin' by
a baby cry
a baby smile
while all the while
i look to see
if anyone See's Me
and just Who I Be

each day as i walk
each day i stalk
new things
whatever Life brings

new or old
each has a story to be told
to me
theses are the things i See

I love everyday inspiration like what fueled this piece for you Steve. It's a nice, relaxing read...there are so many stories out there just waiting to be uncovered. I wrote one the other day about a woman I never knew...she was the in-law of a co-worker and after hearing her tale, I had a poem. I love how that works! Michelle
