poetry is
an artist
brush stroke
across a written page
words in symetry
colors of their own
magical verse
when you've known birth
and death
when you've known love won
and lost
when you've known sunshine
and darkness
when you've known flowers
and barren ground
when you've known the wind
and calmness
when you've been fed
and your hungry
you know poetry
every color
an artist can create
a poet knows
and shows
in his mind
a poet will find
poetry
green grass
blue skys
purple nights
red lips
blue eyes
goodbyes
hello's
yellows
peacock colors
rainbows
halo's
hell no's
a poet knows
in his soul
everything
from here to there
a poets stare
will find
in his mind
life ain't so kind
a poet knows
a poet shows
the memories
behind his/hers eyes
memories
of yesterday
of today
of tomorrow
knowin' ya' cain't borrow
from what ya' don't know
poetry is...
a word
or two
3 would do
"i love you"
poetry comes from poets
old song singers
old writers
with a heart
apart
from
others
I hope to one day satisfy the definition you so elegantly state her

Love how poets see the same object, scene, etc yet in his work show it from many different dimesions, some see fear in tranquillity, othe see calm in a storm.
Nice poem to lament on.
