it seems strange
i've lived in this town
almost all my Life
seen my Life re-arrange
found what i've found
Livin' in my strife
in all these years
i've never gone down
to the bay
to see the Moonrise
thru all my tears & thru all my fears
bein' sad or bein' a clown
never watched the Moonplay
never got that pleasant surpise
of seein' the Moon so clear
as it comes up, not goin' down
it was quite a surprise
to see it gently rise
in the Eastern sky
as it began to slowly fly
just passin' the night bye
at first bright orange, then a pale yellow
it was quite mellow
it was quiet
there before my eyes
Moonrise
