(started ta' title this "blowin' in the wind...but "road kill" seemed more appropraite for me to you who know me )
got a dear one dyin'
a bunch a people cryin'
some just sighin'
some wonderin' the "whyin"
hey, people
it's just the END
but when push comes ta' shove
their soul leaves their body\fly's away.....
on the wings of a dove
or an angel
or an armadillo
(oh they ain't got wings)
guess that's the thing
they just be
road kill
bury 'em deep
in the ground
cover 'em up
hide 'em from the sound
of life's keep goin' round & round
burn 'em up
ashes ta' ashes
dust ta' dust
once you're dead
what's ta' rust
so stick 'em in a jar
keep it close or far
look at the sky
see that star
yeah!
that's where they are
got family
brothers & such
say do this, no
do that
don't know
where i be at
'cause when i die
when i'm dead
when my last poems been read
toast my ass
cook my bones
take my ashes
& throw 'em away
by the side of the road
hell
i finished carryin my load
had my fill
now
i'm just road kill
only request i have is
this
play some George & some Merle
johnny bush, maybe minnie pearl
bob dylan b' nice
---boots of spanish leather"
& that one about the weather
sumpin' about the answer
blowin in the wind...
GUy Clarke & John Prine
yeah,
just play music to remember me
that'd be fine
oh and one more thing
kinda strange
comin' from me...
but bag pipes
& "amazing grace"
one last song for this ace
so bury me where ya' will
don't matter ta' me
hell, what's ta' dye
and please don't cry
just throw me out the car door
long sida' the bye-way
let me die my way
road kill

Said only as Stephen could do.. (smile) And ya know.. And I can see your soul looking down on those left to try to follow these wishes of yours.. The song "prop me up beside the jukebox when I die"... ;) comes to mind. One thing about you Stephen.. is you always do it your way.
Stevo, I had to turn my lights on to type this. Actually typing was not too much fun. My fingers wanted to say it their way. Which was not the coherent English way. So here goes Sara's way,
1) You have a long way to go before it is time for you to decide what we all will do with you.
2)I think they are more than dust to dust for you. Admit it, they are important. And you love them. They have meaning.
