been sittin' & thinkin'
drinkin'
and re-thinkin'
re- Drinkin'
the Life that i've had
so sad
too bad
ponderin' the yesterday's
wonderin' 'bout the gone away's
wanderin' thrun the today's
as they past
realizin' two-day's
never last
into to three's
old thought's
and memories
old sought's
old seekin's
lesson's taught's
stories bought's
time spent on the ought's
and shoulda' been's
Life back when's
i've had some love's
1 or 2 or 3
i once thought of's
as bein' a part of me
but then, i guess,
they saw that side that be
and unless
i could stop bein' me
they couldn't stay
so they went away
just my Life's history
no one know's
no one care's
no one show's
that they're there
their's that they are
without a reason
just a season
for bein' there
and so they're gone
just an old love song
i used ta' sinbg
just an old memory
that used ta' bring
me happiness
in an old time
gladness to my rhyme
not sadness
'bout what i left behind
so as i sit
and as i ponder
i still wander
what it was
that made me
what it 'twas
made me
was it my thinkin'
was it my drinkin'
was it who i am
or was it who i'm not
oh damn,
that's a lot
so this poem i write
by the light of day
i say
'bout conclusion's
Life's illusions
if you might
a write
about losin' sight
of wrong
and of right
a song
that's trite
for poetry
is who i be
that part of me
you get to see
hidden in words
like birds in a tree
but behind the scenes
behind the past been's
there is Reality
i am the man
who took the stand
for who I Be
see me?
thinkin'
re-thinkin'
drinkin'
& re-drinkin'
whi i am
& who i was
was 'twas
'cause
I Be A Fool
mr. cool
the Goloden Rule
does reign
"do unto others
and face your pain"
i know this poem rambles
you know it gambles
i scrambles
my words
so feeling's can't be heard
i reach for right
i seek the light
i wish that i might
write
write
of Life
write
of Love
of Strife
on the wing's of a dove
because if i don't
i won't
i can't
see who i was
or be who i be
'cause you see
i don't see me
for who i 'twas
nor who i am
god damn,
who do i be?
a man
a husband
a father
a son
a man on the run
from who he is
from who he was
from who he might of been
what a sin.
i sit & ponder
i sit & wonder
i wander
away today
i see my past
yesterday
will it always last?
in my mind
i find
it ain't so kind
to be
the Man that I see...
to be Me
a poem so long
i never write
a song
that might
let you see
this side of me
a ryhtmn, a rhyme
lost in time
lost
in who i be
that's me
