Winter Night Treasure

Creaking in rhythm, a chair rocks in it's tracks,
as cracking smiles spread on window of ice,
where snowflakes dance between the cracks,
before they melt in candles's wax

Soft tiptoes of music played,
as she relished all he surrendered,
though his sweet kisses never stayed,
but melted on her tongue like cotton candy

He is the one that crowds her heart,
and never this treasure will she regift,
buried deep within, to never depart,
then she simply smiled, as she lit the map afire

I kinda shuddered reading this- "Soft tiptoes of music played,
as she relished all he surrendered,". This is classic. God bless!

You grab warmth from love in a frosty night...conjuring images of snuggling in front of wood fires while the cold wind howls outside. You shine in this one with the use of such phrases as "he is the one that crowds my heart" and "she simply smiled as she lit the map afire". Chrissie this is my new favorite of yours and one to be treasured.

I like your construction and progress, Christine: first the setting, then the feelings and memories, and all comes together memorably.
