Angel
No wonder why we called her Angel,
our miniature dachshund lived up to her name,
how those short little legs hurried each day,
in the woods, she dearly loved to play,
her zest for life bounced off our hearts,
the joy she gave, was bigger than life,
that is why she will never be gone,
but will be seen in everything she did,
love radiated through tears, as we kissed her goodbye,
Angel, thanks for being the best friend we ever had,
there will never be a day we don't think of you,
and in the stars your halo will forever glow

This, along with the others that I read, is beautiful! We just welcomed a new kitty from the pound and we call her, "Angel" I believe they very well may be angels sent from heaven to keep our hearts warm.

Only good news is that they only grow friskier in memory. Can't take
all those great moments away because they snuggle beside us in our minds and hearts. Still feel their wet kisses, still see the cute, side-to-side sway of their cuddlesome bodies going down the walk. Way their eyes light at the sight of a treat. . .way they act like w e are treats.

I'm so deeply sorry for your loss. Dachshunds have such distinct and commanding personalities, if they love you then you have truly been loved. Beautiful girls in the picture.
I'm so terribly sorry for your loss, Christine. Angel is absolutely adorable! I know the pain you are feeling right now, I lost my twenty-one-year-old cat 5 months ago. It's heartbreaking to lose a loving friend. My thoughts are with you.
I went to the vets with dad and one of my brothers to have our Labrador put down. They all left the room, I remained as she died tell her how she'd meet Cindy our labby before and St Francis, whilst they were upset I found it very peaceful, her dark eyes met mine as life left, yet she seemed to understand. Then I closed her eyes and said, it is finished.
Our pets could have lived with unsavory characters, but instead you gave Angel a good life whilst it was its turn for life on this planet.
Not so many are so blessed.
Chrissie my heart and my thoughts go out to you for I know how much you and your family loved this wonderful little lady. It is no less painful losing a cherished pet than it is anyone else you love but you can take comfort from the fact that her life was one of being loved, cared for, played with and in general the best life an Angel could have had. My sincere sympathies...

So, so sorry for your loss, Christine. But Angel lives on through your poem and in your memories and is happily playing with all the other pets awaiting their friends at Rainbow Bridge. God will reunite you all one day. God bless.
Oh dear, I am so sad to hear about Angel..She is in doggie heaven for sure..she was such a sweet one. Look how angelic Tara looks with her. She will be missed.

Oh Chrissie, I know what it feels like to lose someone or something we dearly love. I felt the same when I lost our pet rabbit, Bugsy. I wrote a short story about him some years back. You've captured all the emotions in few but meaningful lines. A final toast to Angel, to her journey home.

I still feel he's on the back porch. Waiting for me to come and get him. It was like losing a member of the family. And I didn't realize how much he did till he was gone.
