Familial Hearts and Friends...

by Richard Lloyd Cederberg — Read all 279 poems by Richard Lloyd Cederberg

Gratitude can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, and a stranger into a friend. Haiku/Tanka discipline. Image: My son Garrett, with Hunter, Noah, and Owen, three of his four sons.

Poem Artwork
How inscrutable,
To absorb another’s thoughts
And let them move us
.
Imagination,
The essence of a hearts most
Reflective insights
.
Words born in conflict,
Given a form with substance,
Words crying rivers
Which reveal or apportion
Livings innermost secrets
.
Accumulated
Experience, with letters
Gathered together,
Writing what’s in us to write,
Sharing what’s in us to share
.
Stress tested living,
Heartbreak and magic pebbles
Mixed as a potion
.
To be ingested
As pure life-giving water
Sating us with hope,
A habit of gratefulness,
Being real and making friends
.
Showing gratitude
Not just with words, but actions
Making connections
.
Accepting what is,
Standing against what we fear,
Being more present
As we support and nurture
Familial hearts and friends
.

You are so beautifully, profoundly blessed!!!!! I can just see your face light up as you see the amazement of these beautiful boys... God is so good and gracious!!!! Thank you so much for this tribute, Richard and for sharing this remarkably beautiful, sweet, precious and ethereal breathtaking portrait of your family...I say prayers often for you, Michelle, Garett and these angels.. We are deeply fortunate to be in this earth at a time when the Father's beautiful, stunning magnificant glory on earth and harvest of souls shines beautifully and the redemption of souls is bringing forth billions in the harvest, returning millions of prodigal sons and daughters and bringing in the new for love, redemption and renewal connection back to our heavenly Papa........ Your kids are so gorgeous and " all honor, praise and glory to the Father for His generously, love, graciousness, mercy and downright gift to the world!!!!!! And your boys are purchased, sanctified, justified by the blood of Christ- Amen!!. I see in Garret's spirit a very diverse mixture of beautiful bright flame light, humbleness, a fun Spirit he is, wonderment, excitement, proud Papa and courageous playful spirit. He is very sweet, trustworthy, honorable, a good generous friend and citizen, great son, thoughtful as a human being with a deep precious soul and your grand boys- like angels faces of divinity and warm love. I'm in awe every second of God's creation that gives us breath of Spirit that runs very deep in our lungs...Yes God is our breath... ...To wake up everyday is so valuable because we can make the world a better place and leave it as a legacy for others to benefit in many ways but to ripple the effect of harvest of souls is the greatest...I know your boys are covered in deep protective prayers, well wishes from many, including me- ....The wonderment of their presents of soul and Spirit on earth- It is a profound gift ....... We never should take one second of life for granted life no matter what our circumstances are. The gift of God through His son, salvation in Christ, and the gifts of others are worth more than any material thing we could ever possess . Remember the vision of hope and promise that as long as we are in Christ there is never any goodbyes for any of us...That gives me purpose of that eternal bond. ...

Much 2025 happy new years agape peace, well wishes, light, hope, finational blessing, protection and wonderment of the season to you, Michelle and your loved ones always

Such a musical rendering of word play. There is so much to glean from your first few words of each stanza, asking us to avoid thinking we get it. We are entertained and taught much in these words of what much of life is about. Unfortunately, much of mankind is losing the ability, or interest, in earnestly pursuing these values. You've penned a wonderful summation of many emotions that are alive in both the text and subtext. May you always have this appreciation and gratitude, for embracing such thoughts allow so much to enter your being... and your reader's being.
