Poem Artwork

Room for Dessert

In field of faded daffodils,
on handmade quilt, counting patches,
red dress and wind play tug-of-war,
exposing lace of midnight black,
a brook bends to take notice,
babbling a song of love true ,
face clings to warmth of sun,
though, down the spine goose bumps chase,
when there on a hill is your silhouette,

I trace each step that you take,
till we sip butterscotch wine,
indulge in chocolate covered kisses,
saving room for fondue…me and you

"red dress and wind play tug-of-war, exposing lace of midnight black" plays to the imagination like a rhapsody. "Room for Dessert" after the romantic play? I'll just savor the main course! I bid you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael
