Blossomed once and it stood proud,
but now it’s falling, falling down,
crashing to the earth below,
to be crunched and smashed
blown to and fro.
With memories of youth and happiness passed,
gone with Autumn
never to last,
laying by itself alone
under the tree it once called it’s own.
Now that sad leaf that is no more,
has fallen from the branch
unto the floor,
lost to the earth and eventually rotten
the lonely leaf soon to be forgotten

You are a gifted writer. This poem really touched my heart.
People can handle a lot of things but being alone is hard for us all.
Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
People can handle a lot of things but being alone is hard for us all.
