Every man is a born rebel

Though unaware that he is one.

Enthroned in his own piety,

His life is lost without God's Son.

Basking in much religiosity

Of endless rituals, feasts, and dates,

Man-made forms of activity

Diverts the truth, hides heaven's gates.

For eternal life is God's gift

And something we can never earn,

Working for it makes us drift

From truth to Jesus we must turn.

In repentance and rest is your salvation,

But you would have none of it.

All efforts to gain your redemption

Hinders you from receiving it.

God gave His only Begotten Son,

All who trust Him will not perish,

Not by righteous deeds we had done,

But by God's MERCY and His promise.

 "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;

a broken and contrite heart,  O God,   You

will not despise."         ( Psalm 51:17)
