Good point. We also have the same problem with art. I have worked in the local gallery where is is forbidden to take photos of the paintings. However, I cannot be in more than one room at a time, duh! so people who have digital cameras hanging around their necks are able to snap at will, send it to China over the internet and have it copied a million times only to find it featured on the rack at your local Walmart. Like those pirate music copies coming out from China and other countries that condone the practice, the writers are also copied, the page of "printed by" of "all rights" just ripped away and the books sold without anyone getting the dues.
Like hackers, they invade your literary life.

The guy who took my poem changed the title but the body is my work, he also removed my name and used "posted by" as safety measure, I informed the moderator of the site and it was removed. Another poet, Ed J. also had the same experience where a part of his poem was taken, he also felt violated somehow. John Howard Reid will write an article on this, although we writers do not really have much protection legally.

this happened to me once ... when i first saw it i had to give it a few seconds before i realized what had occurred simply because i didn't believe anyone would have the balls to steal another poet's poem ... i confronted the poet and he apologized and removed it from the site ... i guess it's the ultimate form of flattery but it's still unsettling ...
