"Though my mother and my father forsake me, the Lord will receive me."
PSALM 27:10
This poem was written for a friend who was adopted, then at thirteen was rejected again by his foster home and sent back to his real family. His parents and his real brothers refused to take him back, and while walking in the rain, not knowing which home to turn to, he cried out to God, who led him to a family that needed a helper, who took him in and sent him to college.
He became the manager of my bank.
Where can I find acceptance?
Where there are no conditions.
Will there be a single chance
When I won't face rejection?
This world was so indifferent,
Insensitive, cold, uncaring.
From birth disowned by parents,
I'm deprived of human loving.
Then I called in desperation,
To that God they say will hear.
In childlike indiscretion
I surrendered all my fears.
Take me, Lord, I am alone-
I have no one else to turn to.
You are my God, you are my Home,
Yes, I trust Your love is true .
Though my mother and my father
Forsake and reject me, O Lord
I know You will receive me,
You have said so in Your Word.
And in His arms He took me,
Safe in the shadow of His wings,
With Love and Grace and Mercy
Now in praise will my heart sing!
Now these are the stories worthy of remembering and repeating. What a beautiful human being he is too and your words do justice for without God where would any of us be...
Quite an inspiring story. However, it's hard to believe how a family could be so callous as to reject their own son. I sometimes wonder about the human race???
Best wishes,
David.
This is a beautifully penned poem. It brought tears to my eyes. I love and admire the way you share your love of our Lord through your writing. May this young man be blessed all the days of his life. He certainly had a rough beginning to his young life. I know he is blessed having you in his life now too.
Cynthia,
Beautiful! God lead him to a family who would not reject him, who built him UP not down, allowed him to grow emotionally and spiritually. Most likely told him he could be whatever he wanted to be. I loved this story, Cynthia. It gives hope to all who have no where to go.
The only place you can find peace and safety is In The Shadow of His Wings. =] Well done, Cynthia. Reminds me of my favorite Psalm, Psalm 91 - thank you. Saving this one.

With Love,

Be always safe,
