My foolish thoughts have made me very sad
Because the things I think of are so bad.
If only I could think of what is good,
My world would change,
My friends would all be glad.
All in a Golden Hour—
Bright sunlit shoots by the broken brick wall—
Gave way to waiting flowers—
And the stream’s brink seemed to move—
As we walked away—
And around again to where we met.
But, if I mention what I really want,
With simple words of tender trust and hope,
Then—not even you will understand,
And again—I would be very sad.
