I can relate, too. Letting go was very hard for me, and sometimes it seems I really havent yet, though that pain is less as time moves me along to whatever may await. Lets look at what we can be grateful for, today. If I really think about it? I have much to give thanks for, and that helps me a lot. A very good poem. Happy Thanksgiving, and God bless. =0).
I can relate to your feelings, Dawn, as I have walked down that path before. In the long run, I came to the realization that though I loved with all my heart, he did not. He was in love with the concept of love, but never really could love me, himself or anyone. Heartbreaking, yes, but a good lesson to have learned. I wait for no one now. When it is right, it works, when its not, it doesn't. A simple lesson but one that can be so very hard to accept.
