I lost it last night
when I awoke from an apocalyptic dream
and stumbled into unpleasant reality,
 
              dressed in black,
            laced in lack.

            I found fear mirrored
in faces, twisted, taunting my tenacity.
Overcome with swelling waves of wrath, I struck back,

              dipped in hate,
            slept too late.

            I ranted, rampaged,
rushed out, rendered diabolical destruction
to anybody, everybody, nobody,

              raging red,
            feeling dead.

            I collapsed, washed out
by oozing rivers of radioactive rain,
starless inky sky enveloping last remnants

              of our Earth,
            joy and mirth.

            I fell straightaway
into same dream of annihilation and death
as before, woke up twice as angry, too afraid

              to let go,
            to not know.

            I lashed out, loose-lipped,
never minding soft core hidden beneath sharp pain
that consumed. Because I didn’t care anymore,

              I lost it,
            threw a fit.

            I lost it last night.
The world seems still off-kilter and I out of sorts,
unable to distinguish blurred boundaries of

              now unfurled,
            future world.
