There’s a voice crying out
somewhere at the edge of society,
a voice of warning
from the wilderness beyond,
admonishing us,
urging us
to turn,
turn back to God.

The modern-day prophet
seems strange and out of sorts, too near the edge
of our comfort zone.
Yet, we hear his fervent plea
and know it rings true ,
signals that the time
is near,
another comes.

The promised Prince of Peace
is on the way to us. The Messiah
will pour his Spirit
into the hearts of those who
turn toward him, repent,
and open their hearts
to God.
Get ready, friends!

It didn’t just happen
two thousand years ago; it’s happening
now and every day.
Prepare the way; tune your hearts
to Love. Shed the weight
of sin;
taste amazing grace.
