Incredible String Band "Rainbow Song" Live, what a trip. For a moment of Love! Along road behind me.
in darkness sits a soul
foreign
sits beyond a point in space
limitless space
drifting
in the currents of times flow
he found her
caught
within the sphere of earth
born
on a day of rain
drops falling
as tears of love
splashing onto his closed eyes
opening his mind
a new light
clouds parted
cleared
into a rainbow
bearing its gifts
its colors
touching blue
walking slow through red thick
yet soft upon skin
with orange and green
rising more to be seen
purple ran easy
coloring the tips of his fingers
color before color
oceans deep
mountains steep
having fallen once
still walking
he wanders
towards a horizon never there
to recapture her smile her stare
a rose grows wild
under this rainbow of night
seeing by one light
his hand carries
a candle
flame little
flame bright
casts its colored shadow
in color white
sitting within nature green
another color seen
the brightest
yellow
and when this candle dies
and is gone that rainbow in the sky
still a yellow rose remains
blue ceiling
green grass tall
red flowering death
orange and more
these are my rainbow
the path between day and night
night and day
never still can i stay
yellow are your eyes
they're smiling
sun shining
all our hands
out to the sky
just a rainbow passing
you're past
you're all
