A man from South Sudan Looks to retrieve his lost country through his aching words./ a seemingly endless semi-frozen river as mirrors of past & future invade. just two mental/physical travels who led a mad poet to what he always hopes is truth!
lost
upon
a frozen river
i ache
sleeping without
my dreams
all i can hear
the screams
of
death mask
lies covering
water and ice
drift
across a northern stage
empty rhyme
calls to echoes
beneath
lost to the darkside
of time
until
i choose
to breathe
Sitting in a drift while eyes wandering to the frozen Hudson river outside while carrying certain realities within. isn't about Sudan just part of road which led me to poem.
Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
