where the sea dreams
when the water breaks
i find my soul
lost
in the sand
falling through my fingers
open
as silence whispers
i bleed,
sing sweet blues
as i dare
to remember tomorrow
I had to come back to this one. It has been on my mind since yesterday. I feel this poem, and I think I understand why. It speaks to me of how I was feeling in what I call my two lost decades. I spent them all doing my version of "sing sweet blues." Last line is a kicker . . .
If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.
