You are right in comparing Trump to Nixon. There was unrest in this country that lingers today in the minds of conservatives who hated the liberalism of the youthful antiwar, civil rights, hippie movement that became law and reforms in due time.
Now, we have a man at the helm who has promised the disaffected, left outside by the wealthy, that they can get a piece of the pie by following his deluded dreams. I'm with you that he will find the cage of office closing in on him in time and become even more delusional than he already is.
And he has his finger on the nuclear button. These are dangerous times, indeed. The sooner his followers wake up, the better. As we say in the Midwest, those Trump followers are being, hornswoggled.
Well stated, and it sure seems like our president gets a free pass from his faithful followers. He's said and done things that would've sunk anybody else. I have never known a more divisive person/politician in my lifetime. These are dangerous times indeed.
