rocky mountain sunsets
ice water mirror
daring to see her
so far away
playing the ocean
between my fingers
if to love her
how easy it could have been
such a sin
just lovin' her
just for a moment
it was easier
then dreaming her
under a still light
until
midnight cold wind
tearing open my tent's
flaps
silence cutting my soul
sea shell warmth
falling
shattering
against rock and ice wind
of morning
rising sun warming
empty fingers
summer warning
singing
high mountain rocky rhyme
From Rocky Mountain high to the seashore with the winds' icy fingers grasping at your love of her, it seemed a bit incongruous, unless you were on the road.
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
Dear readers, this is my third book of poems, and inside are a special collection of what have turned out to be not only MY personal favorites, but also the favorites of many of YOU. Some of these have never been available in print before...
Love ya!
