in the rhythm of a song
where everything is wrong
if the sky isn’t blue what are the eyes seeing
i dance to the music
broken may it be
through the silence if you dare
yearning for
what isn’t heard
sing to me
what are you trying to see
but a deeper truth
unspoken
sing to me
looking for balance
but none exists
so if you care
never to dare
change
rearrange a life
for nothing is ever wrong
in the rhythm of music
when a song is sung
to one who belongs
Songs mean more to me now that I'm losing my hearing. And some singers come across better with their YouTube versions of old hits. I miss the rhythm of dance but still love to sing a number of old songs, badly, missing a lot of the lyrics in a cappella. They bring back memories every time I sing them.
I believe you are trying to say that songs surpass every kind of human relationship. That's why they endure. Last night I listened again to Enrique Iglesias sing Hero.
A further collection of poems, many from years in the Middle East, but also the California San Francisco and Central Coast areas (Santa Cruz, Carmel, Big Sur, Berkeley, etc.).
