on a summer
a reality break
from nixon and the war
in viet nam
those of us who dared to remember
just to return to one of many marches
on washington
just to see the mass arrest of
we the people
so
where are today’s youth daring
caring to search for america
do they fly over their sea
to shining sea journey
do they drive their car
their car car in a musical historical
exception
on their summer break
from their president’s attempt
to rewrite the constitution
and empty the offices of those
who care who dare to govern
to betray the people with
threats and too much money
where are their marches on washington
who dares
now!
today!
